WHAT DO I CHOOSE?

PIP MEDICAL CHOICE:

Go with unlimited.

No regrets with this choice at time of loss.

And you can still save $121 per vehicle/per year by calling us to update to the NEW PIP on July 2. It is not best for everyone though, as the definition of people who qualify for coverage tightens down- call us to discuss

Lastly, you can always change your option later

BODILY INJURY:

Go with at least $250,000 per person, $500,000 per occurrence. With the new forms, you will see there is not a lot of drop in price for the hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost coverage. If you already have better limits, keep them & consider higher limits yet due to comparative negligence

Anyone can be responsible to pay for any amount of loss, so really, we should all have $1million/$1million and a $5million umbrella BUT, that isn't always affordable.

THERE ARE NOT RULES TO THIS, but if there were:
  • MIDDLE-AGED ADULT: It might be take all wages in the household and times them by 5. You should have no less than that for your per person limit of liability.
  • YOUNG ADULTS:  Perhaps 10x your projected future salary would be a good per person limit of liability.  You have to think about what your earning potential will be once you land "that job" and what "that job" will let you accumulate and afford in life.

JUST REMEMBER

You are always liable, even in death & too little insurance means you end up paying out of pocket, even if that means parting with some of your non-cash assets (house, cars, retirements, etc.)
